Sometimes // Maldelsauce, Tigre, Buenos Aires

A mix done for Shankti Oviedo and Cato Sanchez who run Club Maldelsauce out of the wondrous location of Tigre, Buenos Aires.
here’s what they say about it :

Sometimes // Maldelsauce, Tigre, Buenos Aires

Sometimes – John Roman Jackson
Okay we are starting with one of my favourite tracks at the moment, a lolloping folk funk track from the self titled LP by John Roman Jackson. Great production on this one by the legendary Ernie Freeman. Find it on Oak Records from 1971.

All I Can Do Is Sing – Mike Hurst
When Mike Hurst first went into Capitol’s New York office, the relaxed confidence he exuded in an otherwise up-tight world was the first and lasting impression.
He gave them this album to listen to, asked where he could buy a guitar and left. The A&R bods in Capitol listened, and listened again, and again, and knew the reason for the title “Home.” Mike was Home, so comfortably at home with his creative self it was enormously enviable.
The brilliant former hit record producer had simply, one day, thought to write and perform what he wrote. None too soon. His writing is so lyrically and musically compact . . . it says so very much in contemporary music… that it is deceptively and almost imperceptively coherent.
Listen to that flute !!!

Time Has Come – Bryn Haworth
From the album Let The Days Go By this one always reminds me of Greg Sonnleitner And The Point Of Pleasure Chorus.

Forest And The Shore – Keith Christmas
A seven minute romp that reminds me more of Buffalo Springfield and The Byrds than the UK folk scene.

Abyss – Robb Kunkel
Love this one and it was a bit scarce but it has just got a full re-issue from
Future Days Recordings

California Lady – James Kind and Stack
Originally a B side on a Cloud Nine seven inch it recently got comped on Numero Groups Light: On The South Side.
The album lists the artist name correctly as James Kinds but the 45 was actually release under the name James Kind And Stack

Melting Pot – Will and James Ragar
Not long to wait I do believe the re-issue of this wonderful album is coming very very soon…

I’ll Be Ok Tomorrow – Morrison Kincannon
Just go and buy this album, today – Spacetalk Records STLKLP003

Kaspar Hauser – Steinwolke
Private Press out of Germany 1979

Rain – Cathie O’Sullivan | Summerhaze
Summerhaze is a very different Australian ensemble. Formed by composer Cathie O’Sullivan in 1986.

Each Moment We Survive – NazJazz
Heard George Arthur play a track from the Private Pressing from 1980 a few years back at a Reference Point night.

California Sunset – The Originals
Released on Motown and produced by Lamont Dozier. I need a California Sunset and a California Girl right now.

Drink My Water – Attitudes
Cheap as cheaps Attitudes album Good News was on Dark Horse Records – K56385 and released in 1977

Of The Lites – C.R.A.C.
Private Press 45 and produced by Bill Storm – there is an LP C.R.A.C. – All For You out there but way above my price bracket

Magic Lady – Newban
Album on ultra rare Guinness Records – can also be found on a re-issue including both albums by the band
